From 1839 - 1842 the great French caricaturist, HonorŽ Daumier, completed a series of lithographs satirizing the foibles and follies of married life among the French bourgeoisie. Called Moeurs Conjugales, this series cleverly and with humor portrayed scenes of marriage -- the good, the bad and the ugly. Period Paper is pleased to offer this portfolio from 1968 in which Daumier's lithographs were reproduced in stone by Alexis Manaranche and printed by the famous French printers, Mourlot Frres.
This piece was illustrated by Daumier, HonorŽ. Artist initials in print - bottom left of image.
