This is an original 1807 black and white copper engraving of a cross-section diagram of a public road with fences along the lane, a foot path, and channels to carry off water collected by the carriage roads (fig. 1), the drains and ditches on the side of the road (fig. 2), an illustration showing the hollow built into the center of convex roads (fig. 3). the grade of the road (fig. 4), a cross-section of a hill that the road was to be built on (fig. 5), a convex road after the materials have been smoothed over the hollow (fig. 6), and heavy roller equipment (figs. 7 and 8).

This 206+ year old Item is rated Very Fine +. Moderate foxing and aging. Light wrinkling. Some light surface rub.
