Historic Political Cartoons from WWI & British Life in Advertising (1915-1918)

A collection of historic political cartoons from the World War I era from PUNCH, or The London Charivari, the British weekly magazine of humor and satire. PUNCH was noted for its humorous cartoon illustrations, and this collection includes the works of some of the outstanding cartoonists of the day: Bernard Partridge; F. H. Townsend and Leonard Raven-Hill on the subject of the First World War from a uniquely British perspective.

This is an excellent collection of original WWI print items for the historian or collector of WWI memorabilia.

The Home Front in Britain during World War I saw many changes -- changes in the role of women, the rationing of goods, food shortages, etc., but everyone "did their bit" to help the war effort. Also included in this collection from PUNCH is a group of advertising originals from 1915-1918 which give us an historical snapshot of what life was like for the British people during the First World War.
