Durand that portrays the return of the soldiers in the 23rd Regiment of Foot or "Royal Welch Fusiliers" of the British Army from the Third Anglo-Ashanti War that was fought between the British Empire and the Ashanti Empire for control of the Gold Coast, (now Ghana), Africa from 1873-1874 during the Victorian era. The troops depicted here are marching through Portsmouth, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom (UK).
