This is an original 1867 black and white wood engraving of an arctic landscape, which was drawn by H. Fenn from a sketch by Dr. Hayes and engraved by Fay and Cox. These scenes were documented during the S. S. United States schooner voyage of discovery toward the North Pole.

Please note that there is a blind emboss stamp on this image; it does not affect the integrity of the engraving. These items were obtained from a book from the State of Michigan as we acquired several collections from the historic archives/library. This 144+ year old Item is rated Very Fine +. Light foxing and aging. Light wrinkling. No natural defects. No surface rub. No tears. Light water staining. Please note that there is a blind emboss in the bottom right corner.
