This is an original 1872 black and white wood engraving of the wilderness of Kadesh or Qadesh-Barne'a, of ancient Israel. The name 'Kodesh' means 'holy,' and 'Barnea,' means 'desert of wandering.' There are two located titled, 'Kadesh,' one in the north of Negev, and the other on the border by Petra in Transjordan. This image is of the first.
