1873 Print Style Mortising Machine Vintage Tools T R Bailey & Vail Lockport MAB1

This is an original 1873 halftone print of the Style Mortising Machine , manufactured by T. R. Bailey & Vail of Lockport, New York. This machine is especially adapted for bedstead and chair work. The mortising is not done by the pressure of a chisel, as in the old machines, but with a twisted bit by a rotary and vibrating motion. The best number of revolutions for the bit is 775 per minute. This machine is also well adapted for wagon-makers and manufacturers of agricultural implements.

This 138+ year old Item is rated Very Fine +++. Light aging throughout. No creases. No natural defects. No tears. No water damage. Please note there is print on the reverse, and some bleed through visible on this print. There are a few light blemishes on this print.
