This is an original 1875 black and white in-text wood engraving of a sketch of the American fortifications on Breed's Hill in the Charlestown section of Boston, Massachusetts as they appeared at dawn on June 17, 1775. This is the site where most of the fighting in the Battle of Bunker Hill took place during the American Revolutionary War.

This collection includes not only medical quackery ads, but many images from the 1876 Centennial Exposition. The Exposition was a World's Fair held in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia from May 10 to November 10, 1876, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.
