This is an original 1878 black and white wood engraving of the palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. The complex was built in 1559, and according to legend, was built after the maharana met a hermit meditating on top of the hill. The hermit suggested building the palace at the exact spot, where it was soon established.
