This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Dendrometridae family, including; the Selenia bilunaria, (Fig. 1, a-b), the Brimstone moth, Rumia crataegata, (Fig. 2, a-b), the Orange Moth, Angerona prunaria, (Fig. 3, a-d), the Hibernia defoliaria, (Fig. 4), the Hibernia aurantiaria, (Fig. 5), the Hibernia leucophaearia, (Fig. 6), and the Cross-lined Wave Moth, Timandra amaturaria, (also called the Cobra Inchworm, Fig. 7).
