This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Arctiidae and Lithosidae subfamilies, including; the Muslin Footman, Nudaria mundana, (Fig. 1), the Calligenia miniata, (Fig. 2, a-c), the Dew Moth, Setina irrorella, (Fig. 3), the Setina aurita, (Fig. 4), the Setina ramosa, (Fig. 5), the Setina mesomella, (Fig. 6), the Buff Footman, Katha depressa, (Fig. 7), the Orange Footman, Wittia sororcula, (Fig. 8), the Scarce Footman, Manulea complana, (Fig. 9, upper), the Four-Spotted Footman, Lithosia quadra, (Fig. 9, a-c), the Gnophia rubricollis, (Fig. 10), the Feathered Footman, Spiris striata, (Fig. 11), the Crimson-speckled Flunkey, Utetheisa pulchella, (Fig. 12, a-b), and the Euchelia jacobaeae, (Fig. 13, a-b).
