This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Dendrometridae and Phytometridae families, including; the Psodos quadrifaria, (Fig. 1), the Grass Emerald, Pseudoterpna pruinata, (Fig. 2, a-b), the Large Emerald, Geometra papilionaria, (Fig. 3), the Phorodesma smaragdaria, (Fig. 4, a-c), the Nemoria vernaria, (Fig. 5), the Acidalia humiliata, (Fig. 6), the Acidalia virgularia, (Fig. 7, a-b), the Acidalia aversata, (Fig. 8), the Acidalia emarginata, (Fig. 9), the Acidalia immutata, (Fig. 10), the Pellonia vibicara, (Fig. 11), the Zonosoma trilinearia, (Fig. 12), the March moth, Alsophila aescularia, (Fig. 13), the Drab Looper, Minoa murinata, (Fig. 14), the Purple-barred Yellow, Lythria purpuraria, (Fig. 15), and the Eupithecia rectangulata, (Fig. 16).
