This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Hadenidae and Xylinidae families, including; the Green-brindled Dot, Valeria oleagina, (Fig. 1, a-b), the Chariptera culta, (Fig. 2), the Hadena didyma, (Fig. 3), the Hadena strigilis, (Fig. 4), the Dipterygia pinastri, (Fig. 5), the Small Angle Shades, Euplexia lucipara, (Fig. 6), the Habryntis suta, (Fig. 7, a-b), the Habryntis meticulosa, (Fig. 8), the Auchmis detersa, (Fig. 9), the Ercopus Purpureofasciatus, (Fig. 10), the Xylinia ornithopus, (Fig. 11), the Calocampa exoleta, (Fig. 12, a-b), and the Xylomyges conspicillaris, (Fig. 13).
