This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Lasiocampidae family, including; the Lappet, Gastropacha quercifolia, (Fig. 1, a-c), the Lasiocampa pruni, (Fig. 2), the Pine Tree Lappet, Dendrolimus pini, (Fig. 3, a-c), the Lasiocampa potatoria, (Fig. 4, a-c), the Clisiocampa populi, (Fig. 5), the Lackey moth, Malacosoma neustria, (Fig. 6, a-b), the Ground Lackey, Malacosoma castrense, (Fig. 7, a-c), and the Eastern Eggar, Eriogaster catax, (Fig. 8, a-b).

This 131+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++. Moderate aging in margins. Small crease - bottom right corner. Light surface rub - bottom.
