This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Orthosidae and Hadenidae families, including; the Luperina virens, (Fig. 1), the Miselia oxyacanthae, (Fig. 2), the Merveille-du-Jour, Dichonia aprilina, (Fig. 3, a-b), the Grey Chi, Antilype chi, (Fig. 4), the Dianthoecia albimacula, (Fig. 5, a-c), the Dianthoecia compta, (Fig. 6, a-c), the Small Ranunculus, Hecatera dysodea, (Fig. 7, a-b), the Mamestra dentina, (Fig. 8), the Bright-line Brown-eye, Mamestra oleracea, (Fig. 9), the Mamestra pisi, (Fig. 10, a-b), and the Hadena monoglypha, (Fig. 11).
