This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Liparidae and Notodontidae families, including; the Orgyia gonostigma, (Fig. 1), the Rusty Tussock Moth, Orgyia antiqua, (also called the Vapourer, Fig. 2, a-c), the Dasychira selenitica, (Fig. 3), the Dasychira fascelina, (Fig. 4, a-c), the Pale Tussock, Calliteara pudibunda, (Fig. 5, a-c), the Dasychira abietis, (Fig. 6, a-b), the Cnethocampa processionea, (Fig. 7, a-b), and the Pygaera anachoreta, (Fig. 8).

This 131+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++. Moderate aging in margins. Small crease - top center. Light surface rub - bottom.
