This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Bombycoidea and Liparidae families, including; the White Satin Moth, Leucoma salicia, (Fig. 1, a-c), the Oeneria dispar, (Fig. 2, a-c), the Oeneria monarcha, (Fig. 3), the Brown-Tail Moth, Porthesia chrysorrhoea, (Fig. 4), the Porthesia auriflua, (Fig. 5, a-b), the Laria v-nigra, (Fig. 6), and the Panthea coenobita, (Fig. 7).
