Edmund Hort New

Edmund Hort New (1871-1931) was a British artist hailing from Evesham Worcestershire, England. He received his formal art education at the Birmingham Municipal School of Art. New also studied under A. J. Gaskin. New was most recognized for his illustrations for critically acclaimed books, such as Izaak WaltonÕs The Compleat Angler and others. He also created many illustrations for the English Illustrated Magazine. New specialized in the Arts and Crafts Movement, focusing primarily on pen and ink sketches of rural cityscapes and interesting architecture.
