This is an original 1906 halftone print of the destruction caused by the Mino-Owari earthquake in Japan during October 1891. The earthquake is one of the largest recorded in the Earth's history, measuring an 8.0 on the Richter Scale. Afterwards, there was a six meter height difference between the two sides of the Neodani fault line. Over 7,000 Japanese people perished along with another 17,000 people injured and 140,000 homes destroyed.
