This is an original 1911 halftone print of the front entrance and door of "The Lindens," the Francis Peabody Estate in Danvers, Massachusetts, built in 1745 (1754?) for "King" Hooper. It also served as the headquarters of the British General and Massachusetts Governor, General Thomas Gage, in 1774. The house was moved to the Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C. in 1935.
