This is an original 1919 black and white halftone print of the Rio da Duvida (River of Doubt) as it appeared the day President (then Colonel) Theodore Roosevelt started out on his famous Amazonian expedition. This river, which begins in the Brazilian region of Rondônia, has since been renamed Roosevelt River, or Rio Teodoro.
