Joseph Christian Leyendecker (1874-1951) was an illustrator known for his Arrow Collar Man and for his Saturday Evening Post covers, of which there are 322. Leyendecker studied at the Chicago Art Institute and at the Academie Julian in Paris, France. Throughout his career he worked for Ivory Soap, the Kellogg Company, Palmolive Soap, the Willys-Overland Company, Cluett Peabody & Company, and Cream of Wheat as well as several others.
