This is an original 1920 World War I sepia rotogravure of Private Barnes, a wounded machine gunner of the 1st Division, who incurred severe head injuries during the Battle of Cantigny. The second image shows the men of the 28th Infantry, 1st Division in the Montdidier Sector preparing to fire.
