This is an original 1927 monochrome halftone print portrait of Alma Rubens (1897-1931). Born Alma Reubens in San Francisco, she was a popular silent film star. Some of her films include: "The Birth of a Nation" (1915) (uncredited), "Reggie Mixes In" (1916), "The Half-Breed" (1916), "The Firefly of Tough Luck" (1917), "The Price She Paid" (1924), "A Woman's Faith" (1925), and "Show Boat" (1929). Sadly, she died at 33 of pneumonia after a long struggle with alcohol and heroin addiction.
