This is an unusual, original 1928 halftone print with two aerial views of Chicago. The top view is of Chicago with "current" buildings, while the bottom view is the same with the addition of an architect's drawing inserted into the picture to show how a new skyscraper would fit into the surrounding area. From a photograph by Chicago Aerial Survey Co. and Starrett Building Co.

"A skyscraper is a boast in glass and steel," (Mason Cooley). Period Paper is pleased to offer a collection of original halftone prints of skyscrapers and the building methods used in their construction during the 1920's. This collection will appeal to architects and engineers with an interest in the history of modern buildings and building techniques, as well as to anyone fascinated by these amazing gravity-defying structures. These prints are all well preserved and suitable for framing.
