This is an original 1935 halftone print of Fred C. Schludecker, the foreman for Republic Steel. Schludecker used to work for a silver company until it sold a new method for polishing steel. Schludecker's first large project was making steel trimmings for the Chrysler Building in Manhattan, New York. The company was founded in 1899 by Cyrus Eaton, and became the third largest steel producer in America during the 1920s.
