This is an original 1935 halftone print portrait of Marion Edwards Park, the president of Bryn Mawr College, located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. "Bryn Mawr" translates to 'big hill' in Welsh. The college was established in 1885 and currently carries 1300 undergraduate students and 450 graduate students. Park was the third president of the college and was a descendent of Jonathan Edwards. She graduated from the school in 1898, and was known for her laid-back and informal temperament-- which is embraced in this portrait of her.
