This is an original 1858 black and white wood engraving of artwork that depicted the historic home of Lady Hester Stanhope, a British socialite, adventurer, traveler, and pioneer of Holy Land archaeology, who resided at the abandoned monastery of Dahr El Sitt in the Chouf Mountains near the village of Joun, Lebanon, Middle East until her death in 1839.
