This is an original 1913 tipped-in halftone print of Dr. Norman MacLeod (1783-1862), a Scottish minister who greatly influenced Gaelic literature, and founded two Gaelic periodicals: An Teachdaire Gaelach (The Highland Messenger) (1829Ð32) and Cuairtear nan Gleann (The Traveller of the Glens) (1840-43). He was also greatly involved in church politics and a supporter of the Gaelic education and welfare of Highlanders.
