This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the memorial for Francis Scott Key, the author of the "Star Spangled Banner." President Harding dedicated the memorial at Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland. The caption writes, "Key composed the immortal anthem while a prisoner on a British ship, from which he witnessed the bombardment of Fort McHenry, near Baltimore, in 1814.
