This is an original 1929 color print featuring four portraits of men. The border features a cityscape, a science laboratory, a painter's palette, a fish, a bird, the elements, and various other images.

Milt Marx (1898-?) was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended school at the Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia University, the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, and the University of Illinois where he studied landscape architecture. During World War I, Marx held the rank of Major in the Air Corps, and served as an illustrator for the Official History of the 9th Air Force. After the war, he worked with Dowd Advertising Agencies in New York as their assistant art director, and displayed a show at the Betty Parsons Gallery. Marx is remembered for his depictions of actors and celebrities, which he completed while working for Newark News, Warner Brothers and the Papermill Playhouse.
