This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Plusidae, Ophiusidae, and Toxocampidae families, including; the Gold Spangle, Autographa bractea, (Fig. 1), the Plusia iota, (Fig. 2), the Silver Y, Autographa gamma, (Fig. 3, a-b), the Syngrapha hochenwarthi, (Fig. 4), the Burnet Companion Moth, Euclidia glyphica, (Fig. 5), the Mother Shipton Moth, Callistege mi, (Fig. 6), the Pseudophia tirrhea, (Fig. 7), the Pseudophia lunaris, (Fig. 8, a-c), the Toxocampa lusoria, (Fig. 9, a-b), and the Scarce Blackneck, Lygephila craccae, (Fig. 10).
