This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the genus Agrotidae and Hadenidae, including; the Agrotis festiva, (Fig. 1), the Setaceous Hebrew character, Xestia c-nigrum, (Fig. 2), the Eugraphe sigma, (Fig. 3), the Agrotis plecta, (Fig. 4, a-b), the Agrotis putris, (Fig. 5), the Agrotis praecox, (Fig. 6), the Turnip Moth, Agrotis segetum, (Fig. 7), the Mamestra persicaria, (Fig. 8, a-b), the Cabbage Moth, Mamestra brassicae, (Fig. 9, a-b), the Memestra nebulosa, (Fig. 10), the Silvery Arches, Polia hepatica, (Fig. 11), and the Feathered Ear, Pachetra sagittigera, (Fig. 12, a-b).
