Please refer to listed second image for further information on The Interior of the Bulak Quarter Church of the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel in the ancient city of Cairo.

The Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel, also referred to as Our Lady of Mount Carmel (another title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary), played a large part in the Catholic religious order of the Carmelites. It is said that during the 12th and 13th centuries, Christian hermits, later deemed Carmelites, took up residence in the Holy Land. The Carmelites built a chapel during their journey, which they devoted to the Blessed Virgin, and referred to her as the "Lady of the place."

Cairo,"The Vanquisher" or "The Conqueror," is Egypt's capital, as well as the country's largest city. It is also the largest metropolitan city in the continent of Africa. Cairo is one of the most densely inhabited cities in the world. It has been nicknamed "The City of A Thousand Minarets," and was reportedly founded by the Fatimid Dynasty around the 10th century.

Period Paper is pleased to offer an extraordinary and rare collection of original etchings of the Holy Land including Syria, Cyprus and Egypt.
