Mini Posters

The purpose, role, and style of the poster has changed constantly for over a century to meet the ever-changing needs of society. And, while today its role is less central than it was over a hundred years ago, still the poster evolves and influences how we communicate in the 21st century.

Period Paper offers original mini posters from Cheret and the birth of the poster in the Belle Epoque era, through WWI into Modernism and the Art Deco era (including the masterful and highly collectible London Railway Posters), to WWII and the rise of the postwar Information Age.

What is an original mini poster? They range from the hand-tipped miniature posters released in specialty journals and portfolios, to the common halftone images considered ephemera, to the fine art lithographs by Mourlot in France who printed the posters of Picasso, Chagall, Miro, Matisse & more in miniature.
