This is an original 1905 color print of The Street, Mont St. Michel. Mont Saint Michel is a rocky tidal island and commune in Normandy, France. This island has been a strategic point holding fortifications since ancient times and later became the seat of the Saint-Michel Monastery. The original was painted by Nico Jungmann from his trip to Normandy, France.

Nico Wilhelm Jungmann was a Dutch painter, specializing in landscapes and figures. Jungmann received his art education at the Royal Academy in Amsterdam. Thereafter, he relocated to London. Jungmann frequently traveled to Holland and Brittany, among other locations, where he painted a variety of works.
