Sir Edwin Henry Landseer

Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (1802-1873) was a highly famed and respected 19th century British painter, etcher, sculptor and draftsman. He was most recognized for his ability to represent animals with great accuracy, as well as his ability to personify them. LandseerÕs animal subjects primarily included dogs, deer and monkeys. His immense talent had not gone unnoticed by Queen Victoria, who later commissioned Landseer to create genre paintings, portraits, conversational pieces, as well as images of the Royal dogs. LandseerÕs works have been exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Tate Gallery of London and more. His art continues to be highly sought after by art collectors and fans alike, selling at prices up to $2 million.
