This is an original 1880 black and white wood engraving of Mount Sinai located on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. The name is derived from the Hebrew for "Moses Mountain". According to Jewish, Christian, and Islamic tradition, Mount Sinai is where Moses received the Ten Commandments.
