This is an original 1881 halftone print of the Holly Pumping Engine at Buffalo, New York, invented by Holly Pump Works, Lockport, New York. The engine is provided with four cylinders and four pumps. These cylinders and their pumps are arranged in pairs opposite to each other. The dimensions of this engine are as follows: extreme length, 43 feet; high, 26 1/4 feet; breadth, 17 feet, the diameter of the steam cylinders is 24 inches, with 33 inches stroke; the pump cylinders are 15 1/2 inches diameter, with 33 inches stroke.

CONDITION

This 130+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++. Moderate aging throughout. Light creasing. No natural defects. Some light surface rub. No tears. Please note there is print on the reverse and some light bleed through visible.
