This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Dendrometridae family, including; the Common Wave, Cabera exanthemata, (Fig. 1), the Boarmia cinctaria, (Fig. 2), the Boarmia secundaria, (Fig. 3), the Pale Oak Beauty, Hypomecis punctinalis, (Fig. 4), the Great Oak Beauty, Hypomecis roboraria, (Fig. 5, a-c), the Boarmia crepuscularia, (Fig. 6), the Oak Beauty, Biston strataria, (Fig. 7), the Biston hirtaria, (Fig. 8, a-c), the Biston pilosaria, (Fig. 9, a-b), the Fruit Beauty moth, Lycia pomonaria, (Fig. 10), and the Biston zonaria, (Fig. 11).
