This is an original 1890 black and white wood engraving of the ancient Roman city of Caesarea Philippi, at the base of Mount Hermon. This city was referred to in the Gospels of Mark and Matthew. The city is no longer inhabited; it is used as an archaeological site within the Golan Heights.
