This is an original 1905 halftone print of a barn owl. Barn owls are one of the most widespread species of owl, and can be seen on all continents besides Antarctica. The birds feet on small mammals and insects. The caption writes, "The owl is the greatest enemy of mice, gophers, moles and squirrels, killing more of these rodents in a night than a dozen cats."
