At the time, Johnson came to the country as an already seasoned gunsmith. Iver Johnson's company not only survived the Great Depression, but thrived on it as burglary and other crimes were on the rise in the country.  The company was further accelerated by the firearm demands of World War II.  Iver Johnson firearms were used in the assassination of Presidential candidate and United States Senator Robert F.
