This is an original 1908 halftone print for The Cab Rank, Trafalgar Square. Talmage was a British Impressionist painter who was widely known for tutoring Emily Carr during her schooling at St. Ives in England. His criticism was significant to her forest painting, which became her trademark. "There is sunlight in the shadows" was something he continued to say to his students.
