This is an original 1912 black and white photogravure of George Frederic Watts sitting in the Barn Garden in the house he and his new wife, Mary Fraser Tytler, bought and named "Limnerslease," which combined the words "limner" (artist) with "leasen" (glean.) They also built the Watts Gallery nearby which was a museum dedicated to his work Ð the first (and now the only) purpose-built gallery in Britain devoted to a single artist Ð- which opened shortly before his death.
