This is an original 1914 black and white halftone print of German soldiers and engineers constructing a pontoon bridge across an unknown river in preparation of World War One. Pontoon Bridges have existed since the Zhou Dynasty in China, and are are still used today to quickly and efficiently get soldiers, heavy equipment, and vehicles across rivers.
