This is an original 1923 halftone print of a Buddha statue sitting in the shrine where both Brahmanic and Buddhist ideals are preserved side by side. The introduction of Buddhism in the 8th century sadly marked the deterioration of Khmer architecture, which never recovered it's former vigor and imaginativeness.
