According to legend this is where the great Greek hero, Theseus slew the Minotaur. Mythology tells us that King Minos made a bargain with Athens. As long as Athens sent seven Athenian boys and seven Athenian girls to Crete every 9 years for the Minotaur to eat, then King Minos would not attack them. The Minotaur was a horrible beast that lived in a huge maze on the island of Crete. Prince Theseus decided that it was unfair to send children to be eaten by a monster and declared that he would go as the 7th boy and kill the Minotaur. Upon his arrival, King Minos' daughter fell in love with Theseus and gave him a ball of thread to help him find his way out of the labyrinth. Theseus overcame the Minotaur and escaped with the other Athenians.
CONDITION

This 88+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++.
