This is an original 1930 black and white halftone print of a fragment of a textile from a garment that was created by the people of Chimú culture. The design of this piece is of elongated human figures, birds, and fish. The people of this culture lived in Chimor which was located in the Moche Valley in present day Trujillo, Peru. The culture existed between 900 AD and 1470 AD when it was then conquered by the Inca. The Chimú were known to have worshipped the moon and viewed the sun (that the Inca worshipped) as a destroyer.
