This is an original 1931 halftone print of the agency house at Fort Winnebago in Portage, Wisconsin. Fort Winnebago was built between the Fox river and the Wisconsin river. The fortification was built to maintain peace between the Native American tribes and the settlers of the area, following the 1827 Winnebago War.
